García Slams Morales
7/1-CNN– Bolivia’s relations with Peru are frosty. After Evo Morales claimed that the U.S. had military bases on Peruvian soil and criticized the U.S.-Peru free trade deal, Peruvian President Alan García told reporters he would respond to Bolivia’s president in the same way that Spanish King Juan Carlos did last year to Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez, by saying: “Why don’t you just shut up?”
