Seven gastronomic wonders of Peru contest promoted in all regions

Tourism authorities across the country are promoting the Seven Gastronomic Wonders of Peru contest, an online voting campaign to choose the most representative Peruvian dishes.

Ricardo Raez, spokesman of contest organizer AcidoUnGusto Comunicaciones company, said that on May 27th they will choose 21 finalist dishes; and from this list they will choose the Seven Gastronomic Wonders of Peru on July 27th.

He said that this campaign is being promoted in different provinces by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur), Peru's Tourism and Export Promotion Board (PromPeru), Tourism Training Center (Cenfotur), and Peruvian Gastronomical Association (Apega).

"The idea is to support regional dishes in the list of 21 finalists: Chupe de Camarones (8), Pachamanca (10), Rocoto Relleno (11) Tacacho con Cecina (12), Juane (13), Cabrito a la Norteña (14), Arroz con Pato (15), Chicharron (16), Carapulcra (17), Adobo (20) and Cuy Chactado (21)," he said.
